In collaboration with Stanford Club of European Leaders

Did the G20 Cannes Summit Result in a New Balance of Power?

Dear Alumni and Friends,

Pôle HEC Globalisation and Stanford Club of European Leaders are happy to invite you to an enlightening talk by:
Yves Tiberghien,
Associate Professor of Political Science at University of British Columbia Research
Associate at Science Po and the Asia Center.

An official observer of the G20 Summit in Cannes, Dr. Tiberghien will share his insightful views on the evolution of global governance, bring his “big picture” outlook on world order today and his expertise on economic challenges.

From the historical domination of Western countries to the emergence of Asian economies, how has the landscape of world governance changed? What roles will the US, Europe, China, Japan and Korea play tomorrow? Is there a crisis in world governance? Has global power already shifted?

Dr. Tiberghien holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and is a graduate of HEC Paris.

He specializes in Comparative Political Economy and International Political Economy with an empirical focus on China, Japan and Korea.

His new book L’Asie et le futur du monde (Paris: Presses de Science Po. Collection Nouveaux Debats.) will be available in January 2012.

Wednesday November 16, 2011
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
