Blog: Rising BRICSAM

This blog, Rising BRICSAM has joined with other media platforms of the e-journal Global Summitry to provide a multimedia presentation of global governance and global order issues.

The blog surveys and comments on news, research and opinion on states, international organizations and a host of actors in the global order and concerned about global governance.

Rising BRICSAM is a ‘longstanding site’ concerned to examine the emerging ‘rising states’ – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, ‘ASEAN’ and Mexico. But the site also focuses on the impact of all the Influentials in global order.  As a result, the site examines and evaluates contemporary international governance, the effort to build global governance collaboration and to maintain international stability while accommodating change. This site comments on the Gx system, the G7, G20, the BRICS and all the other many Informals concerned with global governance. On the functional side, Rising BRICSAM is particularly concerned with the global economy, global institutional economic and financial reform and the immense challenge of global climate change.

Finally, the blog assesses key Influentials starting with the United States in the growing geopolitical tensions of the global order. The posts aim to understand US efforts and assess the effectiveness of enlarging global governance leadership. A critical continuing assessment concerns the relationship of the United States and the rising power ‘China’. In examining the relationship, Rising BRICSAM is concerned to evaluate, in particular, the prospects for continuing cooperation but is alert to the growing geopolitical tensions between the US and China.

The blog is authored by Alan S. Alexandroff, Director of the Global Summitry Project at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto and the Senior editor at the e-journal Global Summitry.
